The village stores, pub and the Chequers restaurant are all within close walking distance and the stop alongside the Park provides regular bus services to Cambridge and neighbouring villages.

Park residents are welcome to join the Fowlmere Sports and Social Club, located just across the road where they can enjoy the sports facilities and relax in the comfort of the licensed bar.

A pleasant walk from Appleacre will take you past Manor Farm to the RSPB Nature Reserve. There the reed-beds and pools are fed by the natural chalk springs with a stream running through the Reserve. Birds include kingfishers, water rails and up to nine species of warbler.
