About Tregatillian Park
Tregatillian Park is a mature countryside home park located in a beautiful part of Cornwall. A resident of the park enjoys a peaceful, rural setting with birdlife and wildlife being an attractive feature of their daily life.
The homes on Tregatillian Park stand on generously sized plots. Many of the homes have open plan front gardens and all have private fenced rear gardens. The homes enjoy the benefit of mains services for water electricity and telephone while Calor gas is purchased directly from the supplier. Being a country park the drainage and sewage is provided by the park’s main drainage system.
Tregatillian Park is for the retired and those approaching retirement. The park is a member of the British Holiday and Home Parks Association, and all residents have security of tenure in accordance with the 1983 Mobile Homes Act.
Location of Tregatillian Park
Tregatillian is an ideal location as it is so easy to travel to other parts of the county. The towns of Truro, Newquay, St. Austell, Bodmin and Wadebridge are all within a 15-mile radius.
The nearby town of St. Columb Major offers a good selection of shops and services to meet most needs. The local mini market will deliver to your door and several traders deliver their produce to the park including, milk, papers, fruit and vegetables, fish, gas and coal.
Park Warden
The resident Park Warden is Jane Sheridan who acts as the point of contact for the residents, dealing with routine administration and maintenance while providing helpful advice and assistance.
If you would like to visit the park and have a look round then please call her to make arrangements for your visit. She would be delighted to show you round and would be happy to answer any questions you may have about living on the park. Jane can be contacted on 07795 546 218.
About St. Columb Major
The town has a medieval feel with tall slate hung buildings, narrow wynds and connecting alleyways. The town’s name is thought to derive from St. Columba a Christian martyr and is also home to the Nine Maidens stone row, which is the largest and best preserved example of a row of standing stones in Cornwall.
Twice a year, the town plays host to "Hurling the Silver Ball", a medieval game once common throughout Cornwall but now played only in the towns of St. Columb and St. Ives. Played on Shrove Tuesday and then again on the Saturday eleven days later, the game involves two teams of several hundred people (the 'townsmen' and the 'countrymen') who endeavour to carry a silver ball made of apple wood to goals set two miles apart. Great fun to watch!
Although not a large town, St Columb has a wide range of local shops to meet the needs of the residents. There is an excellent group medical practice and dentist in the town and banks, building societies and the post office. There are supermarkets in the nearby towns of Newquay and Wadebridge.
