The policy was launched in 2004 in response to a demand from lodge owners seeking a bespoke policy which recognised the superior construction of these properties, their high value and specification and their higher than usual occupancy rates, indeed many are occupied for the majority of the year.

The policy provides cover on a replacement as new basis protecting the home itself and its contents. The sums insured should therefore reflect the cost of replacement as new to include an allowance for site clearance, re-siting and delivery costs.

The policy is only available for lodges which are less than 5 years old when the policy is first issued, once insured the policy continues, on a new for old basis for as long as is required. The lodge must be insured for at least £30000 and must be sited on a licensed park in the British Isles.

The policy includes a £2m Property Owners'liability cover and a 24hour Homecare Emergenc Assistance Service.
It covers loss or damage caused by a wide range of perils such as storm, fire,flood (flood cover may be unavailable on some parks),falling trees and branches, frost damage to interior fixed domestic water or heating installations, accidental damage to sanitary fittings, glass, mirrors, ceramic hobs, TV's, audio and video equipment and home computers.
